In our fast-paced lives, it is easy to lose sight of what matters. As we are checking things off of our daily To Do list at lightning speed, our ability to be present or grateful is challenged.
A daily gratitude practice has the power to change your life.
Let’s talk about the power and magic of gratitude. I’ve been a psychotherapist for the past 20 years and have taught thousands of clients how to integrate gratitude into their lives on a daily basis with miraculous results. In this week’s Real Love Revolution video, I cover:

It’s important to understand what being truly grateful and living in a grateful way looks like and why it’s important. There are a lot of scientific studies out there that prove that people who are consciously grateful, who focus on big and small gratitudes, feel better about their lives as a whole and experience greater levels of happiness. They are more optimistic about the future, which of course makes sense. But then there are also physical things – they get sick less often, they exercise more, etc. because when you feel grateful for your healthy body, you want to keep it that way. They are more successful, determined, focused, have a higher rate of achieving personal goals, and they experience less stress in their lives.
Think about your own life. If you want more happiness, if you want more satisfaction, what is it that you need to do to achieve this? I, along with many others, truly believe that gratitude is one of the first stops on the train to joy. If you can rock a daily practice of gratitude, which I know you can, you’ll find that the way you see the world changes. One simple exercise that you can do to start having a daily gratitude practice today is to create a daily gratitude journal. Every day you will write five to 10 things you are grateful for in this notebook, which you can either do at the start of your day, or you can answer a few questions at the end of the day to reflect on what you are grateful for. Some questions you could answer include: Who inspired me today? What brought me comfort? What brought me joy today? If you just answer those three questions at the end of the day, you will flex the gratitude muscle and make it a normal way of how you function in the world, rather than always seeing what’s wrong with your life. This isn’t about avoiding or denying your challenges. I’m all about getting into problem-solving mode when faced with an issue, but this is about doing your best to focus on what’s going right in your life right now.
When you change your vibe and make gratitude your default position, your vibration will be raised. This position is energetic and you will hook other similar things, as like attracts like, so the more you are grateful for, the more the universe will send you things to be grateful for. This kind of energetic shift can change your vibration in your relationship, in your job, and in all parts of your life.
Creating gratitude on a daily basis will quite simply bring you more happiness in your life. And isn’t that what we all want? Because the thing is – the world doesn’t owe you anything.

If the circumstances I’m in right now aren’t making me happy, I am responsible for changing them, just as you are. If I am unable to appreciate the beauty and joy in the world around me, it is my responsibility to start to shift my perspective. It’s time to become your own gratitude guru and create a daily practice for empowered thinking.
