Just when I feel like I’m at the end of my ropes in terms of trying to keep my life together and getting clarity with my direction, the universe sends me this cute little message on a bracelet this morning. I read it, laughed and said, I would love to trust your plan BUT can you please share a bit of the details with me first?
Its funny how many times I’ve tried to figure things out and tried to control everything in my life for a sense of ‘false’ security. I often think to myself, if only I figure this piece out then everything will be set and I can finally start to live my life.
I was recently listening to one of Adyashanti’s talks and he says that if you are in the illusion that everything rides on this one decision and you need to figure it out before you can relax, it won’t happen. Often times, it’s when you relax and let go, then the answer will reveal itself.
As hard as it is to accept, after months of effort and willing to piece my life together in terms of where to live and settle down and what my new career will look like, I finally have to admit that I have no way to force things into place. I know there is a divine plan and timing to everything yet there is a part of me that refuses to believe that because I just want to make things happen.
Perhaps it really is a big lesson on doing what you know to do, trusting and then letting go to the universe’s greater plan. @Uni_Lights (Click to Tweet!)
Also, I’m sure this is a lesson on learning to enjoy life even when things haven’t all fallen into place.
Let’s be honest, there will always be something to tend to. Waiting for things to settle and fall into place before starting to live life would be a lot of precious time wasted.
A few months ago, I was in Whole Foods and walked pass these beautiful yellow tulips. Immediately, the first thing that popped into my mind was, ‘I’ll buy them when I have my own place’ because at that time, I was staying at my parent’s house. As I drove away in my car I suddenly thought, wait a minute, how many times in the past year have I used that phrase?
It occurred to me that I was postponing and omitting a lot of things in my life that brought me joy and beauty because I was waiting for the right time and space.
That night I decided to consciously ask myself how I could make things happen now even without my own space? I realized that as long as it brought me joy, it didn’t matter if I had my own space for it, I could even put a vase of tulips in my car!
Is there anything in your life that you’ve been postponing to do because you’ve been waiting for the perfect time or perfect situation? What would be some ways that you could make whatever you’ve been postponing happen anyways regardless of the current situation and circumstances?
