Does Overachieving Cause You Misery?

Nobody carries medals into the after life.

Adding an extra zero to your salary means nothing after you pass on.

Pushing yourself to succeed is like shadow boxing an imagined enemy.

You create the resistance.

Resistance did not appear until you created it.

Imagine leaning in to a speed bag after punching it. The bag ricochets into your head. But the inanimate bag did not choose to pop you in the head. You did, by choosing to punch the bag and to lean into the bag.

Stop overachieving. Let go of the misery associated with feeling like you are not enough.

Breathe deeply.

Have fun.

Live from a predominant energy of love.

Love life the way life is.

Enjoy the ride. Be 100 times more successful than your overachieving days.

Status and Stuff Cause Misery

I used to work really hard to gain status and stuff.

I wanted to be the most famous blogger on earth.

I pictured myself living in mansions, driving fast cars and dropping thousands of dollars on luxury items.

Thank goodness I failed to create any of these alleged dreams. I was miserable trying to push myself to get stuff I wanted to get just to prove I was good enough to anybody who’d listen.

I do not own a home. Nor do I own a car. But I am happy. I have circled the globe for the past seven years, living in places like Fiji, Bali and Costa Rica for months at a time. Plus as an added bonus, without trying so damn hard, I became one of the most well known bloggers in my niche. I even landed features on Virgin, Forbes, Fox News and Entrepreneur.

Overachieving creates a sense of desperation because no matter what you achieve, you FEAR the achievement is not enough. @RyanBiddulph (Click to Tweet!)

Cultivating the “not enough” feeling in your being creates a vicious, fear-filled, panicked beast filled with hunger and malice. Being a billionaire is never enough if the “not enough” feeling resides in you. Becoming the most famous person on earth is not enough because no matter what you achieve you believe no experience is enough.

Purge your feelings of not being enough. Let go of your overachieving tendencies.

You Are Whole and Complete at Birth

You are a spirit in a meat suit.

At birth, this spirit was whole and complete. Still is.

You do not need to achieve anything, let alone, overachieve.

Stop trying to prove anything to anyone, including yourself.

Spirit enjoys itself by following its passion and serving human beings.

Do that.

Let go of action-induced misery.

Release overachieving depression.

Step into a peaceful, happy, passionate, love-filled, abundant energy.

Hold this intent: “I will have fun helping people and do not need to achieve anything.”

Detaching from outcomes energizes you, inspires you and allows sugary sweet outcomes to manifest.

My wife Kelli and I will travel to Oman for a two month house sit soon.

We circle the globe as professional bloggers, sampling the world and its cultures through our online businesses.

Neither of us push, strain or strive. We have fun working. We play and prosper.

I was pulled into this life. I did not push myself.

The moment I stopped trying so darn hard to achieve anything I became happier, healthier and wealthier.

Love wins over fear.

Every time.

Stop trying.

Just be.

Listen.

Tune into silent instruction.

Release the misery of trying so hard to be something you did not want to be in the first place.

Follow your passion. Enjoy helping people.

Cultivate a feeling of being whole and complete now.

You need nothing.

You are everything.

Love your life the way it is.

Be happy and prosper.
